email Options

I have 2 questions regarding emails. I want to know hoe to mail yahoo my default email. I just baught an HP laptop runnning Vista. I went to the help menu & followed the instructions, but it ask me who my POP server is for out and in going mail. Questions that Comcast do no provide. I want to be viewing a website, and be able to send a picture of link with yahoo alreay set up.

Akso, i want my computer to notify me when I have new email. I have 2 HP laptops running vista, 2 HP & Compaq desktops running HP, and 2 MS! Mini laptop running XP. I understand that only AOL has the "You've got Mail" Pormpt, but I remeber a time when my computer would ding or charm when I had new mail. How do I set it up like that?

Those are details that must come from whoever supplies your email address.

Re: email Options

You might want to try installing Microsoft Outlook. It is a part of Office and most likely came installed on your computer. The first time you run it you can select HTTP as the account type and fill out all the information.

Re: email Options

if you have the free yahoo account, you will not be able to setup yahoo in outlook. You can only do it if you are paying for your yahoo account or if it came with internet access like with att.

Well, the HP laptop doesn't even give Yahoo as an option. I've gobe to "Internet Options", Advanced, and it doesnt have an option for Email., but when I use the computer at work, email is an option, but only the following choices "Lotus, Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Live". Is that customary. Ido have a comcast email, so if Yahoo cant be an option, I could use the comcast email addr as my default email, but again, the problem is that I cant even get to the option in order to change it. I thought it was a simple process, like making ____ as my default email address.
