When you did all this were you logged in as the Administrator account?

Re: Delete ALL internet history so it cannot be traced on a shared computer
Ha well i'm not sure what you're talking about..sorry i know some things about computers but not all. it's just a computer that i can access..not locked. i just get on and do what i have to do. i just don't want anything i do to be traced. i know that when i delete the things that i delete it doesn't show anymore where i can find it..i guess what i'm trying to find out is if they have another place that stores this info that i would need to clear. sorry if i'm being confusing.

If you are are on a shared computer then you likely would have multiple user accounts and one Administrator account that has full control where other non administrator accounts would be low level. Find the Administrator account if your company wants you accessing it. If not contact your network administrator.

Re: Delete ALL internet history so it cannot be traced on a shared computer
i'm sorry i didn't give enough info..it's not a company computer. It's a notebook that i share with a roommate, i guess i didn't use the term shared computer correctly. My roommate knows quite a bit about computers and I just don't want anything to be traced..as in websites and passwords.

Re: Delete ALL internet history so it cannot be traced on a shared computer
unfortunately, if you have a roommate who is an expert on computers, then there are ways to recover the internet history if your roommate decides to look for it.
Your best bet is not to go anywhere you are ashamed of others seeing when you shared computers. If there is a router, then it may have the history of sites accessed, some antivirus, antispyware and other utilities may also have logs of sites accessed, and finally anything deleted can be undeleted.

then all you can do is to never let the browser save your passwords, save your financial and any other personal info on a usb jump drive and basically you would be safe from prying eyes.

Re: Delete ALL internet history so it cannot be traced on a shared computer
ccleaner will clean up the history and imo its pretty good, you can do the same with windows cleanup utility that you already have you on your computer. Everything I mentioned before still applies.
