IE 7 http traffic stops after a few minutes
After I reboot, I can go to any web site.
After a few minutes, http traffic stops working. I can type an address and see in the status bar where the IP address is found, then I see connecting to . Eventually I get the notice the page can't be found. https, ping, ftp and email are not affected, only http traffic. This happened after the Microsoft update was installed last week. I have uninstalled the IE7 update. I have run netsh winsock catalog reset. Still stops a few minutes after reboot. I use Windows firewall and AVG. I have Win XP Pro, service pack 3, on a Dell 8300. |

Re: IE 7 http traffic stops after a few minutes
We've had the same problem at three of our seperate clients - the fix posted on AVG's support page has resolved the fault. Download a little "fixfiles" executable, don't expect a response from it beyond a second or two of egg-timer, and reboot to experience the magic!
Hope it works! |

Re: IE 7 http traffic stops after a few minutes
Thank you for the post. I have run HiJackThis.
I reviewed the log and saw that ZoneAlarm was listed, even thouh I had previously uninstalled it. I uninstalled ZoneAlarm again and the problem disappeared. Thank you again for the reply. |
