page view problem

I recently reformatted my harddrive on my Dell laptop with XP and now when internet pages open up like weather.com for instance, the page doesn't fill the screen. it is narrow and the font is very small. I have tried changing font size and screen resolution but to no avail. Does anyone know if I need to download a driver or is it just a setting I am missing???--Thank you

Does everything appear that way or is it just with web sites?

Did you install your drivers that came with your Dell laptop?

It appears to be just web sites. I think I installed all the necessary drivers, but am not positive. Do you know which hardware would affect this issue?

Try using Firefox. If the problem persists, maybe a firewall issue?

How would firefox fix the problem? Easy if IE is the problem (which, even if IE still works, it is a big problem, but let's not delve into that right now).

And a firewall is a program that controls internet traffic on your computer. I recommend Sygate.

Did you install any spyware prevention programs? Sometimes these programs may block the ads in websites which looks like the site is not loading fully.

OK, try giving this a shot. Go into Spybot -> Immunize and click on Undo button. Restart your computer and see if the websites still have that problem. If not, Spybot was probably blocking those ads. I would Immunize again either way. Just click on the Immunize button in Spybot (Spybot->Immunize->Immunize button).
