Occasional connection problems

I recently hooked up a Belkin Wireless router to my DSL modem. I have two wired computers and one wireless connected. My main computer now has problems keeping a good internet connection. I will attempt to use IE or Outlook and neither can access the net. However programs like Steam or McAfee update can access their servers. Also when downloading large files with IE the download stops at about 12mb. Using a download manager, IDM, solves this problem. Playing online games I have lag and eventually server time outs. A fresh restart of the computer seems to solve these problems. (I just restarted when 2 minutes ago I was not able to use IE or Outlook, however I suspect that if I leave the computer and come back in an hour I will have the same problem again)
Help?!?!?!?

OK, I think the problem is that I have my router configured to use a "Dynamic" connection instead of a "PPPoE" connection which is what I should be using for DSL. However I can't seem to get the PPPoE to work. When I change my settings I lose all internet connectivity. Any suggestions?
