spyware, anti virus...........

hello
i am new at this. can use some help. do i need norton if i have peoplepc security or windows defender or some such program ?
any info will be greatly appreciated.

A local anti-virus installation is recommended. Norton does a pretty decent job, despite what some people say. AVG is free, effective, and easy to use. Don't rely on anti-virus alone. Windows Defender is fairly good for anti-malware, but I recommend Spybot Search and Destroy [http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html] from Safer Networking to get rid of existing infections, and Javacools SpywareBlaster [http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html] to prevent new ones. Of course, no program is foolproof.

You can have more than one anti-spyware / anti-malware.
You can never use more than one software firewall or active scanning anti-virus, because they can interfere with each other.
