[SOLVED] IE but not Firefox
Good Morning,
I wasn't really sure where to post this but as the issue occurs only when viewing a page using Internet Explorer and not when viewing through Firefox, I thought I'd start here. This is the problem: when I open IE and access my website, the page loads and then an automatic redirect follows that ends up with the following displayed on a Dell Search Page - "Sorry, we couldn't find http://google-analysis.com/in.cgi%3F9." I realise one solution may be "just use Firefox" (thanks to my wife for that) but I'd appreciate any assistance in resolving this. Let me know if I can provide further information and be advised that I am non technical! Thanks in advance, Mark |

Re: IE but not Firefox
Try this -
START | type Internet - select IE7 without add-ons. Any difference? Regards. . . jcgriff2 . |

Re: IE but not Firefox
Thanks very much indeed, this has stopped it happening.
Is it just a question of disabling the add-ons one by one (from IE, Tools | Manage Add-ons | Enable or Disable Add-ons... and then deleting the offending item)? Thanks again, Mark |

Re: IE but not Firefox
Hi Mark. . .
Would I make you go through all of that?? !!! Try this and see - reset IE7 - START | type inetcpl.cpl into the start search box and hit enter | select the Advanced tab | Click on Reset (bottom-right) | Click OK (if hi-lighted) | Click OK Please let me know how you make out. I appreciate it. Regards. . . JC . |

Re: IE but not Firefox
Worked like a charm, thanks again for the assistance.
One more question - was this redirecting of my web page in any way malicious or is paranoia getting the better of me. Cheers, Mark |

Re: IE but not Firefox
Hi. . .
Glad that worked. It was just a faster way of doing what you were going to do by disabling add-ons. It certainly could have been malicious in nature, maybe a bad or corrupt ActiveX...? I would suggest that you keep Windows Defender running. What a/v program do you use? Regards. . . jcgriff2 . |
