IE + Vista = interesting problem ...

Hello,

I have a problem with opening my website www.optinav.pl using Internet Explorer. The most interesting is that problem you can observe only on Vista system when you using IE. On Firefox, Chrome etc. everything is OK.

On IE with XP is OK as well... why?

I suppose the problem is on my server in particular with firewall (Cisco) ... but what is wrong?

Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks a lot in advance
Arek

Hi. . .

Have you tried to reset IE7 as well as the Windows Firewall?

IE7 -
START | type inetcpl.cpl into the start search box and hit enter | select the Advanced tab | Click on Reset (bottom-right) | Click OK (if hi-lighted) | Click OK

Windows Firewall -
START | type FirewallSettings.exe into the start search box | click on FirewallSettings.exe above | select the Advanced Tab | click on "Restore Defaults" | Click Apply (if hilighted) | Click OK

Regards. . .

Re: IE + Vista = interesting problem ...

I have successfully viewed the site on the 7 Vista systems here w/o incident.

Per your original post, it very well may tied to Cisco. Is your friends system hooked in to the same server - and is this at work?

Re: IE + Vista = interesting problem ...

Server is in Warsaw, I live and work in Slupsk (about 400km from Warsaw) so my computer is independent of the server.
The same problem has my friend in France and the other friend in Warsaw.

You do not have any problems and my friend in Slupsk as well so, I do not know why sometimes the combination of IE+Vista is working and sometimes is not.

:-)
On Firefox is OK but how can I tell a potential visitor how to open my business website? - "you have to use Firefox instead of IE" ... (min 70% people use IE)

Re: IE + Vista = interesting problem ...

Hi. . .

No, I would not expect you to tell customers to use Firefox or any other alternate browser - as I know I would not want to inform customers to do the same either!! Firefox was just a test.

What troubles me is that you tell me that a friend in France and another in Warsaw have the same problem... therefore it is not limited to your system and I honestly do not know what else that I can do here from New Jersey, USA, to assist in this matter. I don't find this to be connected to Vista or IE7 in particular since I and others can view the site w/out issue. The problem must be there - and "why" is something that I can not answer at this time. There is something with the security at the web site along with some configuration setting on your end that is blocking the site at times.

Regards. . .
