IE7 shows IE6 icons?

alright well, recently i did a re-installation on my computer deleted the old partition and made a new one..it completed ok, then windows updates came in, installed alot of them, service pack 3...etc and internet explorer 7.
after the installation was complete, the shortcut icons on my desktop or anywhere else showed the IE6 icon, and so did htm, html files. ..im not sure it was because i installed IE7 after service pack 3..but i did uninstall ie7 and service pack 3..then reinstalled ie7 first, and the problem stil remains..

any solutions, greatly appreciated =) thankyou.

also, would it be ok if i just replaced a shell32.dll from a vista onto an xp, or from another xp that doesnt have the problem i do?
