IE6 and Excel
I have been trying to open Excel workbook in IE6 used as the defauly browser for our intranet.
Firstly, due to the way IE6 is deployed, here I am unable to routinely run macros. Some PCs will run them, others won't. In short macros are unavailable as either a means of processing data or workbook navigation. Fine; I can get by with the use of formulae and functions to process my displays but I still have the problem of worksheet navigation. In wish to present the users with a limited number of options but more than the sheet tabs can comfortably be relied upon for average users. Hyperlinks are the next port of call. Unfortnuately they too have a problem, While they aork perfectly when the workbook is open in Excel itself once the same workbook is opened from within IE (using the Excel viewer) every use of a hyperlink results in a message that the workbook has been changed and gives Yes, No, Cancel save options. Fine in principle but very annoying when it happens on every occasion a hyperlink is used. Has anyone any idea of how to control this apparently overzealous behaviour? |
