Downloads

I'm not sure whether this is a problem with my security or ie, because the laptop I'm having the problem on is brand new. I'm running on windows vista too.

Ok, when ever i try to download something through ie, the pop up window comes up as it should and no mater what option i choose it disapears. If i choose to save the file it disapears instantly but if i choose to run it it shows the file downloading for a few seconds then disapears.

I'm fairly new with vista so please excuse me if this is not a problem and I am just overlooking something, but i did search for the file on my computer but it was nowhere to be found.

Re: Downloads

Are you using Windows Vista with Service Pack 1? Install SP1 and see if that helps...

Re: Downloads

try another browser to see if its msie problem or something else. After the popup disappears, do you have a bar across the screen asking about downloading?

Re: Downloads

Ok, windows vista sp1 is installed, and no there is no bar going across the screen after the download window disapears. I will try using a different browser.

edit: I do not think i have any other browsers installed, and its not possible for me to install another one due to the problem of me not being able to download anything whatsoever.

Re: Downloads

Thank you all, the problem is fixed, All that was needed was to restart the computer.
