IE Not Working - Reoccuring Error Message

Version of IE:
6.0

Operating System:
Windows XP home Edition

What you have tried:
I have run my virus programmes but no threats were found (It was updated yesterday)
I've tried the suggestions on the Windows Support Website ( Here) but it requires me to use the 'Tools' option in step 3, which I can't do as the IE Window will not stay open.

What the problem is:
Internet Explorer has stopped working in the last few days. An Error message appears every time I try to open it.
I can still open MSN, send error messages etc., but the windows will not open.

Give detail explaining your problem:
When I try to open a new window, an error message pops up. I send the error message report, the window closes as usual, and I try again. The same thing happens every time.
I also can't open offline HTML documents without the same problem occuring.
