IE pdf Attachments insist on opening in Word - So unreadable??

Hi:
I have a weird problem, every time I attempt to open a pdf attachment from an email - my computer insists on trying to do so with Word - hence the pdf attachment is unreadable.

The only way I can read them is to save them to my C drive, then open Acobat 8 then open the attachment file from Acrobat.

This is s real pain

- as I used to be able to just double click on the attachment in the email and it would automatically open as a pdf.

Any thoughts on what I have to do to fix this pls.

My system is: IE Ver 6, Windows 2000 and acrobat reader Ver 8.

Cant you right click on the file and choose "open with"?

Tks for the quick respnse.

No, all I get if I right click is:

Open
Print
Save As
Save All

Add
Rename are both "greyed out"

If I right click on Open (or left click) it immediately opens Windows and a load of "gibberish" text

Probably a win2000 thing. Sorry I couldnt be of more help,
maybe someone else in here will be of more help...
At least you can open the file after jumping through a few hoops.lol

try saving it to your c drive like you been doing, then rightclick it and try to do an open with. Make sure you have always use block selected.

That did the trick - now my email pdf attachments open with Acrobat 8
