I Hate IE7

I recently updated to IE7 and i hate it. I had put it off for so long because when it first came out i updated and didn't like it so i stayed with good old trusty Ver.6. Now i decided to do it cos it was starting to crash all the time and i figured this was because i can't get anymore updates for it. I hate the fact that IE7 scrolls down the page very slowly, in general it's slow and sluggish. Pages take an age to open including my browser page. I hate the fact also that my address bar is above menu bars (just doesn't look right) is there anyway i can change these settings to run more like my good old trusty IE6 did. Or should i just head straight to the beta of IE8

I'm running on XP sp3.

If IE6 was crashing, you likely had problems and those are magnified with IE7. What do you use for antivirus and spyware removal?

Have you updated your Video drivers lately?

How much RAM do you have?

ok i have ad-aware, avg free, avgfree rootkit, ccleaner, comodo firewall, spybot s+d, spy emergency2008, spyware blaster, super antispyware free, zoned out.

I recently re-formatted my pc as it was given to me from my bro although it is only 3 yrs old. he hardly used it but i just wiped and started fresh. i sometimes have to re-start programs because they freeze, i have scanned my puter solid for the last 3 days and it is as clean as i can get it without starting from new again.

also the speed has sort of returned a bit but my main question is - Should i stick with ie7 or go straight to ie8 what is the difference and why didn't they just update 7?

Wow . . that a lot of security programs . . perhaps to many. Try uninstalling spy emergency2008 and super antispyware to see if there is any improvement. If you are using AVG 8.0, there is a conflict with SpyBot, I would uninstall that also. What is zopned out??

IE8 is in BETA . . I never recomend BETA programs.
