All browsers can't load any sites after some time
I've been experiencing a strange kind of internet problems for quite some time now. I don't know when this started. What happens is that randomly after some time I can't load any sites, I get 404 kind of error messages all the time. Sometimes when I try to load a page some random page gets displayed instead, for example I try to go to www.wikipedia.org and www.google.com shows up. I can't ping any websites either. This is the case with any browser I use, however I can still use skype, AIM, etc. and I can browse the internet on my Wii. I use Windows Vista and I have Norton 360 installed. I have updated Norton 360 to version 2, yet the problem still persists. I feel like it takes longer before the problem appears, but it still happens. A simple restart won't solve the problem either. However when I turn off the computer and turn it on the next day, everything is working again, until after some hours the problem appears again.
I hope my description isn't too confusing. Thanks |

Re: All browsers can't load any sites after some time
Click Start =>Run, type in CMD, press OK.
Copy and paste this into the Command prompt: netsh winsock reset catalog Press Enter Then copy and paste this in: netsh int ip reset reset.log Press Enter. When finished restart your computer. |

Re: All browsers can't load any sites after some time
Thanks a lot for your effort, I truly appreciate it. However the problem still persists. I get a error message after i enter netsh int ip reset reset.log that says something like "error occured when trying to reset echo request. access denied" I don't know what to do about this, I'm already running the command as administrator. After doing what you said a couple of times and restarting my computer each time the problem seems to go away and my browser starts working again, but after a while the problem arises again. What should I do?
Thanks |

Re: All browsers can't load any sites after some time
Thanks a lot. I'm sorry I always take so long to reply, but like I said the problem only occurs sometimes.
I've tried doing it in safe mode, when I enter netsh int ip reset reset.log now I get an error message saying something like "the user has not specified any standard settings for resetting". |
