Re: internet explorer
Hi bluefox159 and welcome to TSF !
Seems another program is taking the focus right after you run IE (that would explain the top bar getting light blue). When did the problem start ? Had you installed anything new recently ? If you installed a new plugin for IE or some toolbar then go to add/remove programs to uninstall it and see if it helps. Download, unzip and run Process Explorer. Watch the running processes, run IE and see if a new process other than iexplore.exe appears in the list. If so tell us about it. What service pack and what version of internet explorer do you have ? Is this an OEM installation (Windows came preinstalled on the computer) or a retail installation (you have the retail product key and install CD) ? In the latter case, what service pack is on the CD ? What security programs do you have installed (antivirus, firewall, antispyware) ? See this article from MS : How to reinstall or repair Internet Explorer in Windows XP If you haven't installed them yet I wouldn't try to install SP2 or IE7 unless your 100% sure that there are no malwares on the computer. Try methods 3 and 4 first. |
