IE browser will not open - not a network problem
Recently my IE stopped working. When I click on the icon on the desktop or start menu, there is only a flicker of the watch thing, but no browser will pop up. It is not an internet connection issue, because the wireless network icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen says my connection is 'very good.' I have tried restarting, ctrl+alt+delete to end processes, disabling and repairing the network connection, and turning the wireless switch on my laptop off then on again. Does anyone know what my options are? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: IE browser will not open - not a network problem
First check if the problem is with the IE icon or the Internet Explorer itself. Click on Start - Run, type iexplore and click on OK. If you get a IE window on the screen, the issue is with the IE icon and not IE. In that case, we will delete the icon and create a new IE icon on teh desktop. Let me know once done. cheers!!!

Re: IE browser will not open - not a network problem
Unfortunately, that didn't work, although thank you. I think its a much bigger problem - because not only will IE not open, many other icons also do not open. In order to fix the problem, I try going to the control panel, which will open, but then the icons within that (like Internet Options, to restore IE settings) don't open either. I think its an overall system problem. One of my coworkers asked if it could be firewall related - which it might, only I don't even know what that pertains to or if I could fix it, seeing as I can't open much.

Re: IE browser will not open - not a network problem
open task manager (cntl+alt+del , then T) and see how many iexplore.exe processes are running. If you have several of those in the list, but no IE window... this is the same exact problem I have as well. Unfortunately, I have no solution either, but at least someone shares your pain.
