Can't use any search engines

I have been having this problem for weeks now where I can load the Internet Explorer browser, and get to the Google page (or yahoo, ask, msn, ect.) but can't use the search. Also, I can get to any page by entering it in the address bar easily.

I have tried configuring the router, windows firewall, internet settings, reinstalling Internet explorer, and trying different browsers, nothing works. I have other computers on the same network that are running the same OS (vista) and work fine.

Is this just a simple problem that I am overseeing?
