Internet Explorer not opening certain pages

I have been having this problem recently with IE 7.0.5730.13 and also Firefox 2.0.0.14 The problem is i am able to open some pages eg. www.bbc.co.uk however when i try to open others eg. www.derriaghycc.co.uk (the website of my local cricket club) or www.msn.com they do not load and it just says it is loaded up.

The other 2 computers in my house have the same problem also. We have a wireless router and the problem occurs both when recieving it wirelessly and when wired to the router.

There was a thunder storm a few days ago and after it our phone and sky (satalite TV) box which is also connected through the phone line started to play up. They both work now however the internet still has the problem. Could lightening have damaged the router. Any ideas / solutions would be appreciated.

Re: Internet Explorer not opening certain pages

Hello ybgurrugby, Welcome to TSF!

If you can connect to some website and not others, proves that the Router is not faulty.
Try going into Internet Options and check that the LAN settings are set to "Automatically detect settings".
You could also add those site to your 'trusted sites' in the Security setting of the Internet Options.

Give these a try and post back

Kind Regards,
