Copy/Paste opens a new window IE7
When I right click and choose a text to copy while on my explorer (IE7), a new browser window opens and i have to attempt 2 or 3 times before the text copys. Every failed attempt opens a new window.
I have reset ie settings, reset settings under the "advanced" tab to default, and reinstalled IE7 so far none have worked I have used IE7 for about a year and have not had this prob A few months back I installed explorer on a fresh windows installation, and this prob started about a months ago, (was not happening immediately after install) anyone kno a solution please ty ![]() ![]() update - it may just be related to the right click function because i just recently noticed it happens also just when i bring up the right click menu but before i choose a selection This only happens while in IE7 Last edited by Tiberiuus : 05-10-2008 at 03:14 PM. |

Re: Copy/Paste opens a new window IE7
Thank you for the reply
I uninstalled IE7, had same issue with IE6. I made sure to delete cookies and temp internet files to see if it made a difference, Same behavior. Reinstalled IE7 and issue remained. I extracted Toolbarcop as instructed, here is the report it generated... -------------------------------------------------------- Browser Add-on Report generated by ToolbarCop v3.4 5/11/2008 1:10:02 PM -------------------------------------------------------------- Browser Extension: n/a - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_05\bin\ssv.dll - Enabled - All Users Browser Extension: n/a - {B205A35E-1FC4-4CE3-818B-899DBBB3388C} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Encarta Search Bar\ENCSBAR.DLL - Enabled - All Users Browser Extension: n/a - {E2E2DD38-D088-4134-82B7-F2BA38496583} - %windir%\Network Diagnostic\xpnetdiag.exe - Enabled - All Users Browser Extension: Messenger - {FB5F1910-F110-11D2-BB9E-00C04F795683} - C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe - Enabled - All Users Toolbar: &Address - {01E04581-4EEE-11D0-BFE9-00AA005B4383} - %SystemRoot%\System32\browseui.dll - Enabled - Current User Toolbar: &Links - {0E5CBF21-D15F-11D0-8301-00AA005B4383} - %SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll - Enabled - Current User BHO: Adobe PDF Reader Link Helper - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll - Enabled - All Users BHO: SSVHelper Class - {761497BB-D6F0-462C-B6EB-D4DAF1D92D43} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_05\bin\ssv.dll - Enabled - All Users BHO: scriptproxy - {7DB2D5A0-7241-4E79-B68D-6309F01C5231} - C:\Program Files\McAfee\VirusScan\scriptsn.dll - Enabled - All Users BHO: (Empty) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (empty) - Enabled - All Users BHO: Windows Live Sign-in Helper - {9030D464-4C02-4ABF-8ECC-5164760863C6} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live\WindowsLiveLogin.dll - Enabled - All Users Run - Startup: ctfmon.exe - - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe - Enabled - Current User Run - Startup: IgfxTray - - C:\WINDOWS\System32\igfxtray.exe - Enabled - All Users Run - Startup: HotKeysCmds - - C:\WINDOWS\System32\hkcmd.exe - Enabled - All Users Run - Startup: Adobe Reader Speed Launcher - - "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\Reader_sl.exe" - Enabled - All Users Run - Startup: BCMSMMSG - - BCMSMMSG.exe - Enabled - All Users Run - Startup: mcagent_exe - - C:\Program Files\McAfee.com\Agent\mcagent.exe /runkey - Enabled - All Users Run - Startup: NeroFilterCheck - - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\Lib\NeroCheck.exe - Enabled - All Users Run - Startup: SunJavaUpdateSched - - "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_05\bin\jusched.exe" - Enabled - All Users Run - Startup: QuickTime Task - - "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime - Enabled - All Users Run - Startup: NvCplDaemon - - RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup - Enabled - All Users Run - Startup: nwiz - - nwiz.exe /install - Enabled - All Users Run - Startup: NvMediaCenter - - RunDLL32.exe NvMCTray.dll,NvTaskbarInit - Enabled - All Users List of running Processes -------------------------------------------------------------- \SystemRoot\System32\smss.exe \??\C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\cisvc.exe C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee\MSC\mcmscsvc.exe c:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\mcafee\mna\mcnasvc.exe c:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\mcafee\mcproxy\mcproxy.exe C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee\VIRUSS~1\mcshield.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7Debug\mdm.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\nvsvc32.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\tcpsvcs.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\snmp.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\PAStiSvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE c:\PROGRA~1\mcafee.com\agent\mcagent.exe C:\WINDOWS\BCMSMMSG.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_05\bin\jusched.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\RunDLL32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\PROGRA~1\McAfee\VIRUSS~1\mcsysmon.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\cidaemon.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Desktop\toolbarcop\Toolbarcop.exe Operating System details ---------------------------------------------------------- Operating System: Windows XP 5.1 Build: 2600 Service Pack level: Service Pack 2 ---------------------------------------------------------- |

Re: Copy/Paste opens a new window IE7
everything looks normal there
when in IE6 please do this Click Here to download IEfix.zip. Save it to your desktop and extract the files. Double click on IEFix.exe Click the Apply button You'll be prompted for the Operating System CD or the Service Pack Files location: If you're using Windows 2000/XP, insert the Operating System CD. For OEM systems, point to the Operating System source path when prompted. If you've applied a Service Pack separately, you need to insert the Slipstreamed Operating System CD (if you have one) or point the installer to the ServicePack source path when prompted. Mention the path as "C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386" or "C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles" If you don't have the Windows installation CD, and if the installation source files are not present in the hard disk, you may click Cancel. IEFix will continue with DLL registration part. Restart Windows http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm if that fails this also Click Start => My computer, on the mneu bar click Tools => Folder options, click on the tab View, tick Show hidden files and folders also untick Hide protected operating system files, click Apply => Ok. Double click on C:\ => Windows => Inf, find ie.inf right click on it and click Install When finshed restart your computer |

Re: Copy/Paste opens a new window IE7
i did just as intructed and successfully ran IEfix. the issue unfortunately still remains. i reinstalled IE7 and still same also. i can function with this issue but it is just an annoyance for it doesnt open the new window all the time, just often. I will for the time being deal with it and check back here frequently to see if another solution attempt is posted. thank you for your time...
