IE 7 uninstall problems

Ok well I have problems with my IE, currently I use Mozilla Firefox for the web but whenever I try to use Microsoft Instant messanger, Install microsoft c++ or Visual basic, Run any windows updates, play Crysis online (Made for Microsoft so theres the link) it thinks I don't have a connection and won't conenct with nay of the above. I've checked my firewall (Avg 8.0) and they're all allowed and I never have any security pop ups.

So deciding to fix the problem I thought I'd try uninstalling Ie7 and reinstalling but it doesn't appear on the add/remove programs list and when I try the advised " %windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe" it comes up with a message saying that location is unavaliable.

In addition to this I can't install another version of Ie as mircosoft's website sees me as already having it, Also I can't uninstall it by deleting the IE program folder (I presume this is because my computer uses IE?) saying I don't have sufficent rights when I'm a full admin and the only one user and log in of my computer.

Help? I'm out of ideas and at breaking point, I can't learn coding because I can't download it and I can't play my games to the max, whats going wrong?

P.s. sorry for the mammoth waffle, just trying to get any and every relevant detail in it.

Re: IE 7 uninstall problems

I've already tried that and it comes up with "Your computer already has Internet Explorer 7. It is included with Windows Vista, the operating system you are running." So I can't get the vista version, i've tried downloaded a different version such as Xp but then it says "Your computer is running a different operating system" and doesn't allow me to install it.
