My System

3 probs:IE closes after a login,multiple unknown iexplore.exe,IE takes ages to close

hi

i am running my laptop with windows vista and its nearly brand new.
i have norton 2007 as my antivirus
i am using IE 7

my problems PLEASE HELP!

1. when i am using IE on my university's website, and i try to log into its intranet... IE will close JUST before the page fully loads after i have entered my username and password and clicked LOGIN.

2. when i have been using IE for a while i check the task manager and there are multiple iexplore.exe processes in the taskmanager that are unnacounted for and i have to END PROCESS them... they also use alot of memory

3. this never used to happen but all of the sudden my IE takes ages to close. i click X and its about 8 seconds before it closes away and it used to be instantly...

i have just run a ad aware 2007 scan and deleted all files it found
i have recently run a norton scan and no infections found

any help would be much appreciated. thanks

Try clearing your Internet Cache.
  1. Control Panel
  2. Internet Options icon
  3. Use the [Delete Files] on the General tab

The problem clearly is that you have norton.
id get rid of norton and use a real virus program like avast! or kaspersky etc.
