Sorry to interupt this thread but it seems the appropriate place for my query as well:
I'm running IE7 with all updates current on the latest version of Windows XP Home on a Dell Dim 520. I just recently re installed IE7 after i had similar problems when i originally purchased the PC and software. I use McAfee virus protection software. The problem i'm having is this: I use a news site or news sites, the main one being www.bloomberg.com, and once the site is loaded and it has time to run for a while, it will automatically update headlines etc. When it goes to update it will hang (i hover the cursor over the page and get the hour glass), and then when i try to close it i get the whole "this program is not responding" thing. I don't see this problem with IE6, which i am using on my laptop at work. It does the same thing with other news sites like Reuters and CNBC. Sometimes it will hang right from the start just after the page is loaded. I have put the bloomberg website in as an accepted website in my security area in "internet options". I really think this must be something simple that i'm missing somewhere. I really appreciate any help on this. |
