Hi All
I am trying to copy some pictures from a website, though I can right click on the picture and click save picture as, but when I try to save the image it only gives me option to save as GIF file or as BMP file, and even if I try to save them in gif or bmp format, all I am getting in the saved location is a small dot (.) and the size of the file is also 890 bytes, which is too small for the pictures I am trying to save which should be around at least 2 MB Any help would be appreciated. I am not causing any loss to any website or website owner as the pictures I am trying to save are normal and regular pictures I have tried Firefox, IE 6 / IE 7 and Netscape but all give me the same results from that website |

Re: Unable to save pictures from a particular website
Hello Manucidoo,
There are a few other ways you can go about saving the pictures. (I'm going by your statement that these pictures are freely avaliable to anyone who want to use them and are not copyright in any way that would affect this avaliability) The easiest way is copy the picture and paste it into an image editor (eg. Paint) and save it they way. If the image does not paste into the editor, it is likey there is some sort of prevention (maybe a transparent image over the actual picture to stop people trying to save it ) If that is the case, then you could always do a Printscreen. This almost always works. Unless it doesn't however, or maybe if the picture you're trying to save is larger then your screen (which would mean you would have to do multiple screen shots), then there are 2 more options that I can think of that doesn't involve you installing anything. The first is to look through your temporary internet files, which might have the pic's stored. If not, then try saving the webpage, which inturn might save the pic you're trying to get. Hope this helps. If it doesn't, please post back.
