Internet browser running slow, pages not displaying

Alright so, I'm new to TSF I've been putting up with this internet issue for a couple months already and it was a real pain registering my account when hotmail takes forever to load. So I'm gettin sick of it and need help. I had alot of viruses at one point but I took care of them by reformatting my pc, however I think they mightve messed up my internet connection because I've never had a problem with it until they arrived. Now all of a sudden the pages are running VERY slowly, sometimes they dont even open up, or some parts of the page arent being displayed, I get the "Page cannot be displayed" ALOT, often need to refresh the page 3+ times for it to fully load, videos I stream online wont run until I've refreshed alot of times. Alot of sites I've completely given up on just because they dont work at my pace, hotmail and myspace are some examples. I have DSL connection

I appreciate any help, thanks!

Hello and welcome to TSF

what version of ie do you have

Do you have these problems in any other browsers? Please try one of the below (both are free):

Firefox
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
Opera
http://www.opera.com/

I'm pretty sure I've got IE6, and I've used Mozilla and I still get the problem, I'll give Opera a shot but I don't think it'll do much good, also I've installed IE7 previously and still problems

Re: Internet browser running slow, pages not displaying

opera will not help if firefox and msie are having problems. When you reinstalled you os, did you go to your computers manufacturers website and download the latest drivers? are you only having problems when on the internet?

Also give a little information about your computer, cpu, ram, harddrive size/free space.

Re: Internet browser running slow, pages not displaying

My pc is custom built, 2g ram, 106capacity, 77g space left.. and ive alrdy updated everything i could for it, and ive got automatic updates. And yeah, only the internet is giving me problems.

I'm quite convinced that it has something to do with virus spam I had a while back, but that should fix after I reformat, no?

the virus spam should be gone. However, you can follow the 5 step program and post a hijackthis log in the proper forum so the experts can look at it. see this

Have you contacted your isp to see if theres any problems to your lines? ARe you behnd a router, if so, try bypassing it and see if it helps.
