IE7 Tabs are gone

Tabs were working fine for months then all of the sudden they are gone.

Tab Browsing is Enabled in Internet Options but there is no tab button/bar.

Using Windows XP-Pro

Any ideas?

Re: IE7 Tabs are gone

Sorry...I failed to thank you for helping me out.

I disabled Tabs..exited IE7. Opened IE7..enabled Tabs....Still nothing.

OT: I've noticed that under Screen Properties, there is no longer a "tab" for changing the Desktop. I doubt there is a connection...but thought you should know.

Nope...still nothing.

I've tried about every combination there is for those checks. Even the 'Reset to Default'.

Re: IE7 Tabs are gone

I recently baught this computer from Dell (referbished) in September.

I don't recall receiving a system restore CD. I have a CD for XP Pro from my last computer. Will that suffice with this new system of XP Home ?

It has to be a XP home disc. Do you know someone you can borrow one from?

Re: IE7 Tabs are gone

I believe my mother does. I'll check.
It'll be a few days before I could get it, so hang-on and thanks again.

I may have just overlooked the restore CD for my CPU...will re-search.

Re: IE7 Tabs are gone

well the, thread is old, but here is my 2 cents

I have just had this problem. It turned out to be cause by changing screen property settings. I've been changing themes (not sure how it's called in english version) to "classic" and "xp". I mean i was selecting it from the drop-down liste, but not accepting. Still it has removed tabs. So after trying different things I went to properties again and selected "my current theme", accepted it and everything was back.

I think you could try also try to roll-back changes by (again, don't know how's called in english version) reversal point? (you run windows, hit F8 at the beginning, go into special mode, and pick date when you want your system to be rolled back).

Re: IE7 Tabs are gone

There might be some issue with the , settings of the internet explore.
so to resolve this issue try to reset the internet explorer .
open the internet explorer , go to the Tools > internet options > Advance > click on the reset .
this will reset the settings , of the internet explorer .
