I just downloaded the new version of AIM and when ever I open an IM window, another window pops up and says that an error has ocurred and then it shuts off AIM. ALso when ever someone tries IM'ing me, that same window opens and says an error occurred and then AIM shuts off again. Does anyone know how i can fix that?

During the installion or when you were downloading the files were either damage or incomplete. Un-install Aim and download it again.

I downloaded aim from the main aim site, and the whole download seemed to go fine. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled it several times..and each time the same thing occurs. I have no idea what it could be. Is there anything on my computer that could be causing it?

when you are uninstalling it and reinstalling it, are you downloading it again each time, or are you still using the same downloaded file?

even if the download went fine, it might be bad.

If you don't end up resolving your aim issues, you could always download other AIM type services, such Gaim or Trillian. (I mention this because with other programs you can import your AOL buddy list through your original screen name)

personally i use gAim due to Aim having spyware embedded in it.

gaim is a little tricky to set up, and for the moment it is unable to connect to yahoo.

it can still connect to msn, and aim, and a bunch of others.

if you want to use it, search for "gaim for windows"

or, here is a link to their site: http://gaim.sourceforge.net/downloads.php

make sure to get the windows version.
