Dialup connects but can't access web - just sends info
Help,
I've just bought a computer at home. I've got a dial up account, but when I connect, i can't get onto web pages becuase my attempts are usurped by my computer sending information. How do I stop it? Also my computer seems mega slow too. How do I find out which processess I can safely stop. n example sesion is me receiving 1 meg and sending 40 meg. For some reason the computer has let me access stuff (ONCE), so I downloaded Spybot S&D, Adaware, a Zone Alarm free firewall and an update for Symantec virus protection but to no avail. Now I'm in a catch 22, I can't access the web download the HijackThis - http://209.133.47.12/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe program, which everyone in this forum seems to want a here seems to ask for to be able to help anyone (also can't get it from work as its an .exe file). If you need the I might be able to download the program from my girlfreinds house, then transfer and install it using my pocket PC. Anyway, would be grateful for any inforamtion people could provide or what to do or what info you need to help me further. Kind REgards Marcus |
