bigwebportal taken over homepage

Hi, I have just registered as a new user, please advise if I am in the wrong area.

Am using XP Pro service pack 1, Internet Explorer 6, Norton Antivirus 2004 and Zone Alarm Pro 5.1.

My home page in Internet Explorer keeps defaulting to www.bigwebportal.com. Have tried changing it in properties, and also under Internet Options under Control Panel but it keeps changing back.

How does this happen. My young son plays Diablo often. Could he unknowingly downloading this rubbish?

Hope you can help,

Much appreciated,

Julie

I'd say almost certainly his activities have contributed to your situation.

Please download HijackThis. Create a folder at C:\HJT and move HijackThis.exe there. Run a scan and save the log file. Post the whole log file here. Do not fix anything since most of them listed there are harmless (some are system required). This program will help us determine if there is any spyware/malware on your computer.

Post the log in the Security/AV Forum for analysis.
