Evil remove iex 7

Hi,
I want to uninstall iex 7 and install iex6.I have problems with numerous corrupt files and explorer keeps threatening to shut down but doesn't! However, because it can't find some files it will not complete the uninstall. I have wins XP and all was well till a recent game download seemed to cause a file corruption.I can find no way to repair iex 7.It doesn't seem to be supported and none of my own repair utilities can sort the problem.I really want to go back to iex 6 so would be very grateful if anyone knows of a free utility that will get rid of version 7!
regards

Re: remove iex 7

Click Start => Run, copy and paste the command below to open IE6:

%WINDOWS%\ie7\iexplore.exe

Click Ok

If IE 6 works fine, you can do this:

Click Start => Run, copy and paste the command below to open IE6:

%WINDOWS%\ie7

Right click on iexplore.exe click Send to => Desktop (Create Shorcut). Then you have IE6 on your desktop

Hope that helps in some way

Confused Re: remove iex 7

Hi.
IEX 7 still won't go! I do NOT have iex 6 on my system.Sorry,I should have made that clear. I downloaded it but it will not install over version 7. Is there any other way short of wiping my system where I can get rid of this ? I cannot open internet options in IEX 7 to reset it.It flashes up briefly and is gone! While I can get on the internet and get my mail there are several things that I have problems with.i.e my desktop folders won't open properly and some programs won't come on from there.
I would be grateful for any further advice.
regards

Re: remove iex 7

Hello again,

try this:
  • Click Start
  • Click Run
  • Type or copy and paste, into the text box:
%windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe
  • Then Press Enter **
