IE7 Title bar repaint and exit problem

My internet Explorer 7 title bar does not get properly displayed. The left and right corners may be partially covered by a slightly different blue center section. Performing minimize then maximize correctly repaints the title bar. Navigating to other sites may cause the bar to not repaint properly again. Moving the mouse over the upper right hand corner may cause the minimize, maximize, exit icons to be displayed and executable. Selecting the upper corner X will cause window to terminated but may bring display error message window per attachment.

I have reinstalled IE7. Java says it is working OK. Running XP SP2. I have no IE add ons.

Thank you for any help.
Gary

Re: IE7 Title bar repaint and exit problem

The problem still persists. I have reinstalled directX, Java and My video drivers. I have not received any suggestions from the forum. My next step would be to perform a Windows re-install. Help Please. I do not want to do this.

Re: IE7 Title bar repaint and exit problem

Did this occur "out of the blue" or did you just install IE7 for the first time when the problem occured?

Re: IE7 Title bar repaint and exit problem

IE7 had been installed as part of SP2 for months prior to the IE7 problems occuring. I reinstalled IE7 because of the IE7 problems.

Re: IE7 Title bar repaint and exit problem

Had you recently added, removed, or updated any programs when the problem began occurring?

Re: IE7 Title bar repaint and exit problem

I think the problem started after a memory issue which caused a diskcheck and repair on boot. So I am trying to reinstall all possible effected programs.

Re: IE7 Title bar repaint and exit problem

The memory problem has been fixed. The IE7 problem also may have started after a power failure.

Re: IE7 Title bar repaint and exit problem

try this:

http://kb.wisc.edu/helpdesk/page.php?id=2189

C++ has to do with the programming, not Java script, in case you didn't know (not saying you didn't) C++ is a programming language.

http://www.cryer.co.uk/brian/windows/ie_artehodywtd.htm

Or you could just scrap IE and work with Firefox, which to me is much better and fluent than IE: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/product...win&lang=en-US

God Bless and In Him,

Eric

Re: IE7 Title bar repaint and exit problem

No luck to date with fixing the IE7 title bar repaint issue or IE7 crashing. Guess it will be the big re-install.

Re: IE7 Title bar repaint and exit problem

Hi,
I got the same problem and I solved it; here is my solution ...

- I tried to kill (via task manager) every not necessary process in this way:
1 kill a program
2 open again IE7 and open a new windown
3 check if the problem is still present
4 go again to point 1

At the end I found out my problem: it was the nnrun.exe process. I've removed it from my computer (NewDotNet) and now IE7 is working properly.

Re: IE7 Title bar repaint and exit problem

Thank you for your idea. I searched my PC for nnrun.exe using (including system file, hidden files etc) My PC does not have a nnrun.exe I checked out NewDotNet and their programs are not installed. My other good working PCs do not have these either.

New Info: I have tried restoring PC back to previous restore points, but the restore program can not make the changes, so not changes were made.
I am thinking there might be a problem in registration. PC MightyMax says there are problems, alledged to fix for free, so i downloaded it, but then it wants to charge me for the repairs.

The above method works. For my case, it was the OneStep.exe process resulting the same problem. After removing it (OneStep Search 1.0 Build 160) from the computer, IE7 is working fine.

Re: IE7 Title bar repaint and exit problem

Thank you!! so much Milanig that was exactly what the problem was. It was so annoying just trying to narrow it down to spyware.
