IE6 versus IE7 & Fasterfox for IE

Hi,

Sorry that my first post in a while is so general or vague but here goes.

I use Mozilla for 70% of my net use on my laptop but use IE for the other 30%. Long story but some work based apps aren't Firefox compatible so when using them I use IE for other net stuff.

My laptop is a couple years old and has IE6 installed.

Question 1. Is IE7 significantly better than IE6, or to put it another way should I upgrade and install IE7?

Question 2. Are there performancer tweaks, the equivalent of Fasterfox, available for IE that are worthwhile installing?

IE7 is more secure than IE6.

Just IE6 is usually faster to load.
