Slow IE6, Crashes, Freeze Ups=My frustration
I am running Windows XP and IE6...I am on a home network.
About a week ago I started experiencing slow page downloads and crashes or freeze ups. It seemed to start when a spyware called Internet Speed Monitor attached to my browser and everytime i would go go Yahoo homepage, a toolbar would pop up on the left called the same (ISM). I uninstalled that, ran my Nortons Virus/Spyware scan and Cleansweep. Out of desperation I also ran yahoo Anti spy. Since then, i am having many many freeze ups...especially when I try to read my yahoo mail. Sometimes when i click submit buttons or send buttons etc in forums/mail nothing sends/submits...and i have to do an end task to shut down. So someone suggested i use Firefox as my browser, but that seems to be slow too. Should I post my hijack this log?? |

before doing anything, you need to follow these steps and get rid of the nasties on your computer.

Re: Slow IE6, Crashes, Freeze Ups=My frustration
I dont see any of the nasties there...
but I do have both Nortons and Spysweeper...could there be a conflict there??? I have been reading a little about that. I cant seem to uninstall Nortons or reinstall it. Its wierd. Its showing that I have Nortons in my install/uninstall programs, but if I click on it to remove (because I thought I would reinstall), it freezes my CP up. When i tried to reinstall it, it stops partially through (which leads me to believe its either a conflict with spysweeper or Nortons itself.) I dunno.... ![]() ...... |
