Hi all,
Sorry if I didn't have time to search for this problem in the forum. Just point me to the thread if there is one. My pc: Gateway Intel WinXP home - SP2 IE 7 Problem: In the last week or so whenever I type an address in the address bar and hit Enter, IE freezes and the cursor disappears everywhere except the taskbar. I open Task Manager and IE is "Not Responding". I have to shut it down and get the error-reporting message. I have cleared the AutoComplete function, deleted Histories, etc. I've run AdAware SE, Spybot and looked thru HiJackThis log without anything jumping out at me, nor has anything worked. Thanks in advance for your help. Last edited by JohnthePilot; 12-07-2007 at 05:19 PM. Reason: email address removed to avoid spam |

Re: IE 7 freezes when using address bar
Thanks for the quick reply and welcome. I didn't have time to search for a similar posting, but did and found one.
IE without add-ons works fine so I went to Manage add-ons under Tools and systematically found that a Yahoo! browser helper object was causing the problem. I disabled it and still have the Yahoo toolbar. Don't know if there's another problem lurking yet, but thanks for the help. I'll search more completely before I duplicate another post. dskellie |
