EEK! page page display error on internet explorer and firefox

hi guys basically when im browsing some sites they do not load properly on interet explorer or firefox. i have attached images of what i mean and also the services i am running on my pc as i have disabled some.
running xp sp2 home edition latest updates. Im on a local lan and using windows firewall. my flat mate does not suffer the same problems with same setup as me.
any services not on the jpg are not running, may have something to do with it maybe?

It could be your firewall, and also in FireFox theres an option to block images from certain websites maybe you sometimes clicked on that by acciddent. You can go to settings and see if those sites are on the list.
