SP2 and MSN Messenger - Contact list never displayed
Ever since I loaded XP SP2 on my PC, my MSN Messenger
(6.2.0137) no longer works. Windows Messenger also does not work, with the same symtoms. Interesting it does appear to login to the server as if I'm logged in from another PC and I start off MSN from the XP SP2 PC, it kicks the "other" PC out. It's just that the Contact List never comes back. No Error messages, just the two dancers dancing around each other forever. I have Norton Internet Security Installed, tried de- installing - no difference. I have the new Micrsoft Firewall Disabled - no difference. I de-installed SP2 - hi presto that works! I put SP2 back on - and to my dissapointment MSN Messenger again doesn't login fully again. I'm sitting behind a NAT firewall, but that's not the issue, as it obviously works whilst no SP2 installed. Also have a second PC XP +SP2 behind the same firewall, where MSN works fine. Any help appreciated Last edited by Paul Mc; 10-17-2004 at 03:28 PM. Reason: Better Title |
