Apple Quicktime problems

Have recently had computer reformatted and re downloaded internet explorer plug ins and add ons such as flash, also downloaded Apple Quicktime and although some internet videos display fine, on one or 2 ive noticed the apple quicktime icon on screen either has a question mark over it or turns into a small black box which says 'click to activate this control' but doesnt do anything when you do click it. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Is this on windows XP or 2000?

What version of IE and quicktime is it?

Hi, the Windows is XP Home edition (2002), internet explorer is microsoft version 7 and the apple quicktime player is also version 7,
