Email Problem
I send out an e-newsletter that apparently is being forwarded
to friends of some of my subscribers. Some of those friends do not want to receive my e-newsletters, so they send me a message asking me to take their name off of my distribution list. Well, therein lies the problem. I can't take their name off because it wasn't on there to start with. The kicker is that when they forward me the email that they received, it LOOKS like I sent it to them. There is not another forwarding email address listed. I am so confused and upset because I don't want to upset anyone with unwanted emails. If I get a request from someone to take their email address off of my list, I do it immediately. I am very sensitive to sending out unwanted emails. But how can I convince someone that I am not sending them an email when it looks like I am? Why is there not a forwarding email address listed? Could someone be impersonating me somehow? I have never given out my email password to anyone else to use it on my behalf. PLEASE HELP. Thanks. NauticalMiss |

Re: Email Problem
Hello and thanks for replying. I am creating the newsletter and emailing
it myself using web-based email. I'm sure the newsletter is being forwarded to other people. What I can't figure out is why is it not showing who is forwarding it? Can you help? |

Re: Email Problem
Yes. Every time I get a request to remove a name, I do a search through all the
distribution lists and remove the name immediately. I'm only seeing the name of the person wishing to be removed from the list. I don't ever see any other email addresses so I can't trace back who is forwarding. |

Re: Email Problem
Yes, I have been removing them. The problem is, I'm getting "unsubscribe" requests
from people I did not send the newsletter to. So I can't remove an email address from my distribution list that isn't there in the first place. They must have been forwarded my newsletter from someone I did send it to. The problem is, the forwarding email address is not showing up, so I can't trace back to the person who is forwarding my newsletter to ask them to stop. |

Re: Email Problem
Yes, it is a recipient of my newsletter emailed by me who is then forwarding
it on to someone else. That person thinks it is coming directly from me, when it is not. But I can't prove it because for some reason it does not show who is forwarding it. And, apparently, it is only a rare case that this is happening. Most people are seeing the forwarding address. |

Re: Email Problem
Sorry but I don think there is anything we could do to help this. Other than maybe send an email out to all your contacts saying:
One of you is forwarding this newsletter to other contacts, this is probite and another person had complained. I will have to stop making these news letters, if this is the case. Or something along those lines. |
