IE7 Upgrade won't install
Hi there,
I've been having some trouble upgrading to IE7 from IE6. Everytime I install IE7, the installation goes fine, and it almost finishes I believe (installs windows core components etc.) but then ends abruptly, says that it cannot complete the installation, and that it will restart to remove the installation files and for me to check the Windows troubleshooting page. I checked the page and looked at my IE7.log, and it looks like there was a problem writing to a registry key (log posted below). I tried altering the permissions for the keys, but when I navigate to the key in the registry editor and click on the folder, an error pops up: "Cannot open [folder]: Error while opening key." So, I cannot change the permissions. Do you know what is going on? Thanks! You should finish your thread in the HJT log help forum first to make sure the computer is clean.
