Yahoo web page flashes and won't allow login
Am using Win XP with SR2 and all updates current.
In IE7 when I go to yahoo's mail login in screen, the whole page flashes instead of allowing me to login. If I use Netscape 7.1 and go to the same page (using the same computer), I can use webmail on the yahoo page and weed out the spam before downloading the "keepers" using Outlook. I have searched the forums for "IE uninstall and re-install" "IE repair" etc but I'm not even sure if the issue is IE. All other pages display properly and allow input. |

Re: Yahoo web page flashes and won't allow login
Hello and welcome to TSF
![]() What firewall and security programs do you have installed? also please try this: Open up Internet Explore, click Tools, Internet Options, click on the tab Security and underneath 'Security Level for this Zone' put it on Medium. Then click on the tab Privacy and under 'settings' put it on Medium. Click Apply then Ok. |

Re: Yahoo web page flashes and won't allow login
I am using Norton Antivirus 2007 and a router for a firewall. Whether I turn the windows xp firewall on or off, the page behaves the same way.
Changes in security and privacy do not make any difference. (Changed, rebooted and tried again.) Any other thoughts? Is this an IE issue? Does windows need repair? Thank you for your thoughts. |

Re: Yahoo web page flashes and won't allow login
Am using a Linksys router -- WRT 54G but had this problem when I was using the D-link wired router as well. Find no place to change a cookie setting.
Am using a similar setup at work where I have 3 computers I use for Web mail (I have a training facility) but none of them flash the Yahoo mail login screen. |

Re: Yahoo web page flashes and won't allow login
Your guidance that the flashing is a cookie issue led me to try RIGHT CLICKING and SELECTING ALL in the field for login. The flashing stopped. When I entered my id and pw, the error message came back that cookies had to be enabled for the site. HMMM.
I went back to the Privacy settings in the Internet Options and found that the "managed sites" included a specific "block cookies" for www.yahoo.com. Once I removed that site from the list of "managed sites", I was able to log in. THANK YOU!!!!!! |
