It started out because i wanted to get IE 7 running with IE 6 for some web design testing.
Originally i had IE 7 installed and working fine, i decided to downgrade to IE 6 and copy it. Once i had copied all the IE 6 files i upgraded back to IE 7, but now IE 7 wont connect, it just kind of seems to refresh. When i run the Diagnostics it says:- "Windows has detected a problem with the Winsock provider catalog on this computer." etc But even when i tell IE to fix it and restart, same thing happens. Anyone know what the problem is or how to fix it? At the moment i'm using Firefox and could well stick with it, but i need IE 7 back, for, as mentioned earlier, web design testing. Any help is greatly appreciated PS. When i downgrade to IE6 i can connect to pages, its only when i upgrade back to IE7 Last edited by magnetica; 08-11-2007 at 04:33 AM. |

Re: IE7 wont connect to anything
Sorry i managed to fix it.
It would seem that because zone alarm WASN'T running and my firewall was defaulted to windows firewall. I think that windows firewall was blocking IE (lmfao at MS), so when i switched zone alarm on, it worked absolutely fine |
