IE7-very frustrating...some features stopped working!

Hi,

I have IE7 and suddenly some features stopped working.

1) Home page tab functions except the anti-phishing filter has red X and states " Phishing filter can't check site because Microsoft online service is temporarily unavailable". Filter is enabled.

2) When next tab is open nothing works on the toolbar, it's frozen. Plus the tab hangs and will not close.

3) Opening the browser takes several minutes to display (also Roboform). When I attempt to close browser it hangs or completely freezes.

Besides frustrating, I'm at a loss figuring out what is wrong.
Someone please help

Thanks
woody2

Hello Woody2

Try and open IE in safe mode, and see if you get the same problems..

Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and click on Internet explore (No Add ons)

Re: IE7-very frustrating...some features stopped working!

Hi,

I opened IE in safe mode and found the problem. My Google Toolbar was messed up or corrupt. I uninstalled the bar, cleaned up any remnant and reinstalled. Now everything is fine. I'm glad it was simple. The toolbar possibility dawned on me after you suggested the safe mode feature.

Thank you for your help
