LoloMac's thread

Hello all, I'm a newbie to the site, so bear with me on these ans. & questions. I' have only one problem with IE7 but it is getting on my nerves, slowly but surely.

Problem:
Any time I browse the net and find a site I don't want, I try to close it, it closes IE7 all together with the message; Explorer has encountered a problem and has to close. Sorry for the inconvenience.

and all my hard work finding the info I have looked for is gone

Can anyone help me? Be gentle, I am an old coot that is slow in this field, but I do catch on.

Hello and welcome to TSF

Do you get an error code?

What version of IE are you using?

Re: Internet problems etc etc

Hello again LoloMac

Lets try sfc/ scanow

System File checker: sfc/ scanow

**Note: You will need your Windows XP disc for this exercise**
  • Insert the Windows XP CD in your drive.
  • Click Start, then Run
  • Copy and paste the command below into the text box (with out the quotation marks)
    " sfc /scannow "
  • It should now look like this now:

  • Click Ok
  • During the scan you may be asked to Insert the CD, if this happens just go retry and let it do its thing.

Lets hope this works. Please post back with the results.
