Downloading Options

I'm having some problems when I download.

I want to change my downloading options back to when it asked me if I wanted to "Save" or "Open" the file but I accidently unchecked the box that says to ask me each time. How do change it back to when I can choose whether to Save or Open?

Re: Downloading Options

Turns out version isn't important Also turns out that it's not an easy thing to turn back on.

There's two options.

1. Reset IE, which will practically reinstall it, but this will delete all your addresses, history and favourites. To reset, click tools > Internet options > Advanced tab. There's a button at the bottom of that window called reset.

2. (This one will take a while, but will not delete your addresses and stuff)

1- Open My Computer
2- Click Tools > Folder Options > File Types tab.
3- Scroll down that list to find a file extension that has the problem. eg JPG.
4- Click the extension
5- Click the Advanced Button
6- Check the "Confirm open after download" checkbox.
7- Repeat steps 3 to 6 for every file extension you download.

That will do the trick for all but one file extension, .exe.

Hope this helps
