Ie Icon???

Helping a friend,, when he clicks the IE icon it will create another one on his desktop.haven't been over to look at yet,is there a setting i can look at that will cause that...

maybe check mouse settings on double click (is it just with ie) also a spyware and virus can may be a idea.
