Choose a digital certificate popup
Hi: I am having a problem when I am in our web site where I select a link which opens a Microsoft Word Doc in a new browser within the plugin. The problem is when I exit that browser window which has MS doc in it, I get the popup which says "The web site you want to view request identification. Please choose a certificate." There is nothing to choose from and all I have is "Ok, Cancel". In order to get rid of this popup I have to select "Ok, Cancel" about thirteen times. Then the browser goes away and I can go ahead and select another doc. The process starts all over again. Also if I select something other than "doc", it works fine. No certificate popup... Also I think this has to do with a browser or plugin because there are a couple of guys that don't have this problem. We just can't pinpoint what needs to be changed or what to look for.
Thanks, |

Re: Choose a digital certificate popup
This is what we did and now it works!
CAUSE This problem may occur if Internet Explorer tries to write the document file name to the list of most recently used files. To write the file name to the most recently used list, Internet Explorer tries to obtain read/write access to the document. Resolution Important Note: Take a backup of your registry by using FIle -> Export and save it to local disk To resolve this problem, you must add the DontAddToMRUIfURL registry value. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, and then click Run. 2. In the Run dialog box, type regedit, and then click OK. 3. ILocate the following registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Word\Options" 4. Click Options, on the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value. 5. Type DontAddToMRUIfURL, and then press ENTER. 6. Right Click on newly added DontAddToMRUIfURL, click Modify. 7. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK. 8. On the File menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor. Thanks, |
