OK,
Here is what I am trying to do. My default browser is Slimbrowser, but there are links that I want to open in only IE. Sounds Confusing.. let me explain.... At work, the web applications are configured for only IE6. I use Slimbrowser as my default browser bcos of the tabs and other features (similar to Firefox). I have created shortcuts to these web applications on my desktop, and I want that when I click on these shortcuts they only open in IE and not Slimbrowser. I use Virtual Win and have 4 desktops, and if I click on the shortcut, it brings up the browser from another desktop to the present window, and I dont want that as it interferes in my research... I saw some where how to do that a long time ago but I cant find that info now... I want to be able to open a shortcut on the desktop to open in a specified /specific browser i.e. IE6.. ![]() Any help will be appreciated... 919263 |

Re: Opening a link only in IE
Create a regular Shortcut by right clicking the Desktop and selecting New>Shortcut. Browse to iexplore.exe and add the URL of the site you want to open to. It should look like this "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" http://mail.yahoo.com/?.intl=us. Leave a space between exe" and http.
When you click the shortcut it will open to that web page using IE. T.
