IE7 freezes/locks up

Hello all!,

I have recently encountered some problems with ie7 on my xp sys.
I have about 20-30 secs it seems before ie locks up and i have to ctrl, alt, del. I use this for woek and need ie7 to work. work programs don't work with firefox.
any help is appreciated. thanks!

What is the CPU usage at when this happens? and how much memory is it using?

Have you installed anything recently?

What security programs do you have?
