Can't Watch Videos with Internet Explorer 7
Hi:
I'm now having trouble seeing videos on some news Web sites like CNN.com and MSNBC.com with both Internet Explorer 7 and Netscape Version 8. However, Mozilla Version 5 works just fine on these sites. And this problem just began happening within the last week. I can still see videos just fine on sites like Google and YouTube with all three browsers. On CNN.com and MSNBC.com, when I click on the links to watch their videos I can hear the audio just fine but the video is simply a blank green screen while I hear the audio. Do you have any ideas on what I can do to correct this problem? Thanks. Jim |

Re: Can't Watch Videos with Internet Explorer 7
Hi Jim,
Welcome To TSF. It could be that there is a problem on their side with CNN and MSNBC. If other videos work that i can see any problem. Although at the top of the website in Internet Explorer does it say Run ActiveX? If so on any browser then just click on it and run then install it if it asks. That would be needed to watch videos online from websites. Hope This Is Okay. Have A Nice Day. Jaymie. |

Re: Can't Watch Videos with Internet Explorer 7
Jaymie:
Thanks for your reply. I don't see any message asking me to run ActiveX, and you may be right about the problem being on their end. They may have altered something in how they transmit their videos recently. I find it interesting that the problem is present with both IE7 and Netscape 8, but not with Mozilla 5. This to me would indicate that the problem may be that they're transmitting in a way that could potentially run into problems with some browsers. Jim |

Hello Jim and welcome to TSF
![]() This could be because you do not have the right codecs installed. I am not sure if this also works for on line movies, but here is the DIVX codec Click here When the web page launches click on Free download I hope this helps. |
