My DSL connection keeps stalling

Hello this is my first post and I am having a problem with my internet. When I double click my internet icon my internet boots up right away just fine. But after that when I start trying to go to other sites it almost always jams up, but if I click the refresh butten a couple of times the page will usually load up. But I will need to do it again the next time I click on something. This is getting anoying since I can no longer send e-mails ( refreshing deletes the e-mail ) i'm lucky I got to register with this site even. Can someone please help me with this issue. I don't have any viruses or adware or spyware to the best of my knowlege.

every now and then my internet connection is gone completly, just not to long ago I tried to connect to the internet to check this post and my internet was gone, I had to restart my internet 4 times before it connected. I got my internet speed checked out after a few attempts at it and it was at about 550 kb/s I am supposed to get 1.5 Mb/s. I just got my dsl last month and it ran just fine then, but now it's not good at all. Thank You to whom ever can solve this mystery ?
